Preview: End of the road…
by Patrick / Raven on Aug.22, 2010, under Poetry
Here is a preview of my newest piece. Sorry I’ve been out of writing for what seems like forever now. Registered users can view the full piece already… Enjoy…
I’m wandering the streets alone at night in my mind as over and over I retrace.
There’s no light left on the street in front of me, and the path behind me is broken,
And this one remaining light pole flickers as every lie in this world is spoken,
And at the rate it seems like the bulb will shatter as our generation continues at this rate,
And now I’m left to remember every decision I’ve made, and all I can do is contemplate….
Old Stuff Opened Up.
by Patrick / Raven on Jul.19, 2010, under Blog, News, Poetry
I opened most of my old writing to the site back up. Anything since April you will still need to register a user to read. Also some journal and image posts will remain for registered users as well.

New Registration System
by Patrick / Raven on Jul.11, 2010, under Blog, Journal, News, Poetry
I have decided that some posts other than just my poetry, some non-password protected journal things that are not private or venting, and some just blog stuff is now being marked as private. Only registered users can view private posts.
I have upgraded the user registration system. This will allow you to
1) choose your own password and not have to use a random password generated by the system.
2) Allow you to register and not have to wait for me to enable you
3) prevent spam from registering
This may seem annoying while registering but it gives you two additional fields to fill out and prevents me from accidentally deleting real users who I may confuse as spam.
If you do decide to register you get the added benefit of access to my writing and some of my personal posts. Which in hindsight may not be much, lol, either way there’s an update.
Drive
by Patrick / Raven on Jun.24, 2010, under Poetry
So I get up, grab some pants and keys, and in the car I hop,
Fire it up and close my eyes as the rumble vibrates me,
Take a deep breath knowing no one else could appreciate and see,
People ask me why I do this, why I get behind the wheel like I do,
So let me try and open up and explain this a little to you,
I’m the kind of guy who will do sixty in a thirty five,
I’m the one who does 100 everyday on the way to work on I-75,
I’ll do 120 and duck and weave, swerve and steer past,
I push each and every gear until it almost won’t last,
Sap out every ounce of power reaching for the peak,
And I’ll do it every single day of the week,
Because when there’s that much going on, that much tension,
You focus on nothing but the road and gauges, pure concentration,
There is nothing else on your mind, nothing to think about,
Because if you deviate in the least your checking out,
And why do I choose the street over being safe at a track?
Because I got more on my mind than 10 seconds can attack,
I got enough to fuel me driving until there’s nothing in the tank,
This is why I drive like I do, my car is my freedom, and her I thank.
